Why The White Arabian Horse Is So Important

Arabian horses are difficult to find in general. While a good Tennessee Walker or Thoroughbred can get you a long way, the Arabian has stats in the extreme. Most Arabian horses can only be found in remote locations, such as the heights of Big Valley, or purchased in the post-game.

The White Arabian stands above them all, however. Its stats exceed even that of some other Arabian horses, both those purchased in stables and found in the wild. In fact, no other horse can match their stats, with only the Turkoman and Missouri Fox Trotter having higher stats in some areas, but still a lower overall average.

Though the table above would seem to indicate the Black Arabian has higher stats than the White Arabian, the latter is both free, can be found as early as Chapter 3, and can be boosted even further through bonding and saddles.

Where To Find The White Arabian Horse

The White Arabian Horse can only be found in one location, an area that the game never guides you to after the prologue. Deep within the North-Western Grizzlies, the White Arabian dwells. It never spawns in a herd either, so it will always be by itself.

It will typically spawn in the area at the northern edge of Lake Isabella, roughly beside the cabin across from the lake itself. This is the same approximate area where the Legendary Sockeye Salmon and White Bison appear, so it's an area teeming with rare wildlife

Due to the extreme weather in the Grizzlies, it's very possible you may arrive in the middle of a snowstorm. The White Arabian will still spawn in these conditions, though will be much harder to see, so it's important to take it slow and keep an eye out so as not to accidentally spook it.

Tips To Tame The White Arabian

Taming the White Arabian is functionally the same as any other horse in the game - you call out to get its attention, keep it calm, approach slowly, and mount it. The major difference is that the White Arabian is incredibly skittish, more sensitive to sudden moves, and has a more quickly depleting calmness than most other horses. Slow and steady is the way to go here, so keep your lasso away.

The challenge isn't over once you've mounted, however. The White Arabian is wild and has a very high chance of bucking you off before you've broken it. If you get tossed off, just stay calm. It will only run a short distance away, and you can try again.

The White Arabian horse will still spawn even if you've already caught it or run away, so feel free to tame a whole stable full of them, especially since they're worth over $1,000.

Otherwise, taming the White Arabian is standard procedure, just a little more difficult. After you've calmed it down and tamed it, bring it to a stable. The closest one is by Valentine, which is still quite a trek away. Be careful along the way, and don't forget to whistle for your other horse to follow suit. Good luck!
