Welcome to the homely comfort of the Knoydart Foundation Bunkhouse on the stunningly remote peninsula of Knoydart on the west coast of Scotland, reachable only by boat or a long hike. Renowned for its spectacular rugged grandeur, secluded beaches and blissful tranquillity, Knoydart is a haven for hill walkers, mountain bikers, kayakers, mountaineers and wildlife enthusiasts. A community enterprise, the Bunkhouse is a cosy and welcoming base from which to explore this remarkable part of the world. A responsible tourism provider operating by green principals, the Bunkhouse is the responsibility of the Knoydart Foundation, a unique community owned organisation. It is 2 mins' walk from the beach and 20 min walk from Inverie which has a pub, post office, community owned shop and the ferry pier. The Bunkhouse sleeps 26 across 3 bedrooms, there is also a well equipped kitchen, a drying room, a dining room, laundry service, and a cosy sitting room with a wood-burning stove. There is limited EE mobile phone coverage on this part of Knoydart but the Bunkhouse has Wi-Fi. We also have a DVD and VHS player, books, games, bed linen and duvets provided. Explore by yourself or take advantage of the ranger service or deer stalking. A torch is essential. Local wild venison & off-licence available year round in the village. Good dogs welcome at the Bunkhouse with notice.

The bunkhouse uses local hydro green energy and is active in recycling and composting. Guests can only arrive in a sustainable manor; on public transport by boat or on foot after a long wilderness hike. The bunkhouse provides lots of info to guests about local green issues.

They are now offering a choice of three ‘Wee Hooses’ for you to enjoy – self contained accommodations with beds, a bathroom and a kitchen. There’s never a bad time to see the Knoydart Penninsula, and even with the current restrictions you can now make that dream a reality.
